Overdose Prevention

What if someone is overdosing right now?

Overdose deaths are preventable. We have the tools we need to stop people from dying from drugs.

190 people die from an overdose every day. That equals 70,000 avoidable deaths every year.

Harm Reduction offers evidence-based strategies that reduce the risk of dying from an overdose. We aim to support people who use drugs, and the people who love people who use drugs, with information to mitigate the risk of an overdose and to stop an overdose while it’s happening.

To help our community prevent overdose deaths, Pacific Pride Foundation offers FREE naloxone at our syringe exchange program and at our Santa Barbara and Santa Maria offices.

Naloxone is a potentially lifesaving medication designed to help reverse the effects of an opioid overdose in minutes. Since most opioid overdoses occur in the home and are most often witnessed, having Naloxone nearby can make all the difference.

If someone you know takes opioids or prescription opioids, such as oxycodone or hydrocodone for pain, be prepared for a possible life-threatening opioid overdose emergency.

We offer both Nasal Naloxone and IV Naloxone.
