What would the communities of Santa Barbara County be like
without the programs and services offered by Pacific Pride
Foundation?
|
1. |
living with AIDS and needs help maneuvering the maze of
social service programs and medical insurance
requirements; |
|
2. |
at highest risk for contracting and spreading the HIV
virus and need life-saving HIV/AIDS prevention
information; |
|
3. |
a young teenager struggling with issues of sexual
orientation; |
|
4. |
living with HIV or a lesbian/gay individual and in need
of counseling and recovery services. |
Here at PPF we celebrate the determination and
perseverance so many of our clients exhibit as they face
the many struggles they are confronted with daily. With a
dedicated staff and cadre of volunteers we make a
difference in the lives of those who come to us for help.
It's no secret that funding for HIV and AIDS programs
has weathered severe cuts during the past four years and
we are bracing for additional cuts in the near future. We
are also facing very real apathy about HIV/AIDS. Many
believe it is no longer a critical health issue, a
perception especially held among young people - and yet
half of all new individuals diagnosed positive for HIV are
25 years of age or younger!
Also, if we look to the future and see the outcome of
the recent election, the lesbian, gay, bisexual and
transgender community will be confronted with
unprecedented challenges in protecting and defending some
of our most basic rights.
Your generosity continues to be central to our success.
When you make a donation to PPF, you are lending a hand in
helping make our services readily available to those who
critically need them - a man newly diagnosed with HIV, a
young lesbian being harassed in her high school hallways
or an intravenous substance user sharing a syringe.
Will you help make a difference?

- Prepare a will. Fewer than 40% of those who pass away have one. Without a will, you have no control over your estate upon your death.
- Leave a specific dollar amount, asset, or percentage of your will or trust to the nonprofit organization(s) of your choice.
- Name a nonprofit organization of your choice as the beneficiary of your pension plan or IRA.
- Name your favorite charity as the beneficiary or owner of an existing life insurance policy.
- Purchase a new life insurance policy naming your favorite charity as the owner or beneficiary.
- Remember loved ones through memorial gifts.
- Consider various assets for your lifetime charitable gift. These include, but are not limited to, stocks, bonds, CD's, real estate, vehicles, art and jewelry. Such gifts may even provide tax savings.
- Consider establishing a life income gift that will provide current income to you and/or a loved one, while providing significant tax benefits.
- Encourage family and friends to leave gifts to charitable organizations in their wills or trusts.
- Ask your financial advisor(s) to encourage charitable giving as part of their counsel to clients.
