Santa Barbara County has two active groups:
Santa Barbara Transgender Support Group meets first Thursday of each month at Pacific Pride Foundation, 126 E. Haley Street, Suite A-12, Santa Barbara.
Santa Maria Transgender Support: The monthly group has suspended meeting until further notice. Peer counseling, support, phone and email referrals are still available by contacting (805) 349-9947 / email.
You can find more information here. And you may find general information from the Lending Library.
Our forums are private. If you wish to join, check in at the M2F Forum or the F2M Forum , and describe your situation in an email to the Moderator.
Hormone therapy, gender-reassignment, facial surgery … or doctors who need you to tell them about transgenderism.
Employment at colleges and government agencies are generally PC. Jobs for teen T's on the street — that's a biggie. If you know of an employer who is an ally, post that info here.
Laws were not written with T's in mind. Where does a jailer put us? What about our marriage — are we same-sex or not?
Our gender-crossing may break up a marriage, estrange children or parents or siblings. Or not. How do we handle our co-workers?
Am I gay? Trans? Bi? How do I know, for sure?
A few people are born with ambiguous or even double genitalia.
Many Native American traditions, including the Chumash, honor transgenders as shaman, healers, advisors, and keepers of the lore.
